I met lovely Carol when I started to get facials at a nearby medical spa. Carol was one of the aestheticians and she gave me several wonderful facials. As we got to know each other, and I found out she hadn’t had family photos done in years (like TEN, seriously!), we decided she really needed some. Noah, her eldest, just finished his freshman year in college, and Ben just finished his senior year in high school. New photos were a must before any more big changes happened!
Last year, I had the opportunity to work with BRO for the first time! Blue Ridge Orthodontics did my braces several years ago, and now my brother goes. I did a shoot for Dr. Roberts’ daughter Emma, and later last year I went and took all of BRO’s new photos! They built a new building and redid their website and wanted updated photos for a fresh look.
Three of our pear trees have been blooming and the other day I thought I’d go out and snap some pictures of it. In the days when I was only a nature photographer, I used to hunt down every single tree or flower I could find with blossoms. My subjects now are mainly people, and while I love portraits, it’s always fun to shoot pure flowers now and again.
Like many photographers, I’m afraid I’m a bit of a gear-hoarder. It’s known as G.A.S. – Gear Aquisition Syndrome. I believe I have around 5-6 lenses, which is pretty small compared to some of my colleagues! Nonetheless, in my experience hoarding gear, I’ve found some really epic lenses and today I’m going to delve into my favorite three lenses – the ones I always pick up and the first to include when I go on vacation or out on a shoot!
