A few nights ago, I watched the movie Brigadoon. It’s from the ‘50s. It’s a cinemascope musical, which means fine costumes, elaborately built sets, and lots of music. It’s one of those musicals where it’s almost ridiculous. If you’re a character, you can’t walk down the street without bursting into song about something. I’d seen it before, but having watched it for the second time, I realized there was more to it than what meets the eye.
February went by with a breath; in a blink. Somehow, the month that usually seems to creep by went faster than ever this year. Now it’s March. The other night, I heard crickets. If there’s one thing about winter nights, it’s that they are silent. The crickets chirping; the robins perched on the bare tree branches; the tiny buds on the peach trees and the scent of living, growing things remind me of a sensation that comes but once a year – spring.
November, November, WHERE Y’ALL AT? *shades eyes with hand* *looks around* Seriously, though, didn’t I just write October’s wrap-up post? *shakes head*
November was bad jokes and good stuffing. Fall leaves and journaling. Tea and reading. Taking family pictures of my cousins. (Who never look at the camera. In sketchy lighting. It’s okay. They love them.)
Well, folks, I’m sort of at a loss for words. It’s been so long since I have been lifestyle blogging that I honestly don’t know what to post about or write! I’m sure once I get the ball rolling I’ll do just fine, but, heh heh, the ball is heavy. Anyway, I figured I’d try to start by doing a recently ramble. We shall see how this goes.
