November Goals | 2019

Greetings, friends! It is November. I know, what riveting information! But seriously guys, how did we get to the eleventh month of the year? O.o I certainly don’t know, believe me! Anyway, per usual, I’m here to review my goals for last month and set some goals for this month.

Last month was…interesting. I had a lovely and exciting first weekend, and then for the next 2 and a half weeks, I slumped like no one has ever slumped before. In all seriousness, it was pretty bad. I was very low, very unmotivated, and started consolation eating. Guys, I gained six pounds, and my weight never fluctuates like that! Pretty much all I did was mope around, sleep, and eat, and that was not healthy mentally, physically, or spiritually. My walk with God suffered, my productivity suffered, I became a fat blimp, and I neglected to find joy.

Therefore, I did not ace my goals. However, you know what? I’m doing a lot better, and I’m taking precautions for that not to happen again, and I’m feeling pretty good.  The past week and a half I’ve been doing photoshoots, which greatly improves things once I’m doing my dream job again. And I have a couple exciting things happening this month, which means I have things to look forward to. And I’m making a ton of progress on saving for a new camera! (Nikon d750 – my first full frame!)

All that being said, I want you to know – if you go through slumps like this, you’re not alone! Part of that is being a creative – an intuitive and a feeler, if you are a MBTI junkie. XD It always feels really bad to be in them, and of course, guilty afterwards for wasting time! But you do your best, and sometimes life just gets really hard and unmotivating.

Last months’ goals

Only spend $100 – SUCCESS! I think I spent $95, besides $114 on a new planner system that I had already been planning to get. And bills. Lovely bills. But those don’t count. XD

Read 5 list books – I read no books. *sighs*

Make 13 dinners – I made like, 1 dinner, I think. *sighs again*

Start and FINISH the next Nouthetic counseling course – HA HA HA NO.

Answer letters within 1 week – I think so? I honestly can’t remember.

Get back into piano or art – Well, I got back into guitar, so that sort of counts. XD

This month’s goals

Exercise 6 days a week – Stiff goal, but eh heh, is anyone surprised, after I gained six pounds? XD There are definitely specific workouts that I would like to do, but just getting out and taking a walk and being active counts.

Invest more in quiet time – Quiet time was something I, unfortunately, did not spend a lot of time on during October, and that was not good.

Early to bed, early to rise – I have been trying to establish this kind of schedule forever and I need to just focus on accomplishing this dire task. If I succeed, I’m going to reward myself with something.

Journal 5 times – There are *whispers* exciting things happening this month and I really want to journal some more so I have more things preserved for the future. :)

Finalize blog subscribe gift – I’m working on a fun gift for new subscribers, and I need to make the idea become (OH DEAR A FRUIT FLY ALMOST DROWNED IN MY KOMBUCHA) a reality.

Take more pictures – My love for photography has condensed into I-only-take-pictures-when-I-get-paid-or-need-to and I know I’m not growing very much. It’s gotten a bit stagnant, and I’d like to find more joy in capturing memories, emotion, and beauty.

In surmise

In surmise? Except for one wonderful weekend, October wasn’t great, but I have hopes for November.  I know, just based on past experiences – that I could very well slump this month, so I must take precautions to provide myself with tasks to do in order that I keep moving forward. This month, I’m focusing on bettering myself, mentally, spiritually, and physically, especially as cold weather is beginning to set in. I’m also going to focus on doing things that I don’t enjoy that much – such as getting up earlier and exercising – and doing them consistently. I find the more consistent I can be, and the more I can establish a routine, the more I will continue to do that thing because I find comfort in routine. Routine builds on routine, and in turn, makes me a more disciplined and focused person.
