My 2019 Reading List

aria-photo-3

Hey, you guys! Happy 2019! How was your New Year?

Originally this was supposed to be my 2019 reading list, but after I scheduled it I had a sinking feeling that it was going to be awfully boring. XD So a few days later I rewrote it. Then it got too long. XD Today I’m going to surmise some books I am planning to read!

This year I have a booklist of 48 books. A couple years ago, my Granddaddy and I made this intensive, 100-book list that I honestly didn’t finish until December 31st  of 2018 and I even skipped a few. Ooops. I can’t handle that large of a list, especially when it’s all theology and stuff like that. Too much that is sort of textbook-writing. Some authors are really great and easy to read, but others….not so much. So, I decided to just do 48 books this year and make it a good mix.

I went to a fantastic book sale last year and acquired many new classics I’ve wanted to read, so I put them on my booklist. There are also a few more that have been recommended to me and a couple that I figure I should read to round out my…repertoire. (Does that make sense?)

Some of these are Crime and Punishment, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Lord of the Rings, 1984 and Brave New World.

Next, I have a theology/worldview/Christian living category. Books like How Now Shall We Live by Colson and Pearcey, Let Me be a Woman by Elizabeth Elliot, a biography of Spurgeon, and John Calvin’s Institutes of Christian Religion.

IT’S A UNICORN!

Finally, I have a category that consists of motivational game changers and businessy books. Most of these I got from the booklist that Alex and Brett Harris put together and the booklist that Amy and Jordan (my photography course teachers) put together. Do Hard Things, because I haven’t read it yet, The World is Flat, Start With Why and Your Best Year Ever are on that list.

And that concludes my booklist. Plus, I’m eagerly awaiting the list that Allison put together for me. I’m so excited to start this reading!

What’s on your booklist?

AWW WHAT A CUTE LITTLE UNICORN. The books you mentioned sound great – I hope you’re able to read them all! 😀 The photos in this post were so pretty – your room is gorgeous!
I’m going to try to read at least 100 books this year, but I haven’t really planned what I’ll be reading – I’ll mostly just be picking random things from the library. Plus I’ll be reading books that Megan sends me (we decided to do the book swap thing after seeing your post about it!) 😀

Your reading list sounds great!! This year I’m hoping to finish the Anne of Green Gables series and read some of Charles Dickens. But I don’t usally get to read all of the books I want to in a year, because I have a lot of reading for schoolwork. Anyway, I hope you get to complete your list this year. Btw, I love that unicorn!

Ooh, yes, those are both great! David Copperfield is my favorite Dickens, if you need a recommendation. 😉 Ahh, yeah. Thanks, dear!

OOH I LOVE THESE BOOKY BOOKS!
I aimed for 100 books. XD But since I’m counting books of the Bible, that takes away 27 books off- which should be manageable! Love this list- especially LOTR. 😉

      AHHH GOOD!
Ahh! I aim for 200. XD Those 48 are the only planned ones, though. Ahh, well yeah! And yeah, I’m finally breaking into Tolkien since I’ve heard so much about LOTR. :)

Your photos are lovely, Aria! And I hope you get the chance to read Do Hard Things… I explored it as a young teen, and God used it to change the way I viewed life. This post was a brightening to my evening – you are so loved, friend!
