Ten Gal-entine’s Day Ideas

Have you heard the new term, “Gal-entine’s Day”? I think it’s such a cute idea. Why not spend Valentine’s day with your girlfriends? Of course, if you’re like me, you’ll be spending it with your cat…who won’t get you any chocolate….yeah, I think it’s a much better idea to spend Valentine’s day with your girlfriends rather than with your cat. My brain as usual won’t stop, so I came up with ten fun ideas on how to spend the day with your friends (or sisters)!

Host a cupcake wars party

A friend of mine recently told me about a cupcake wars party she had with some of her friends and I thought, what a cute idea! You can bake a couple batches of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes beforehand and pull them out for the party. You can make one kind of icing in large quantities to separate and color. And then finally, you can buy a bunch of edible décor to go on them! Lots of fun!

Host a coloring party

Are you into the latest adult coloring books? Get a bunch of your friends together to color! Have them bring their coloring books and supplies as well, so you won’t have to buy new ones. All you have to do is make a batch of cookies to enjoy while you color!

Make a movie

You can write a script and make a funny movie together with a few of your girlfriends. When it’s done, watch it and make popcorn!

Host a makeover party

I have never done this, but I’ve heard of it and it sounds so much fun! Get a few of your friends over and do hair masks, facial masks, and mani-pedis on each other. Go scavenge the kitchen and find all sorts of stuff to put on your face and hair! (i.e. yogurt, honey, cinnamon, avocado, raw eggs, etc) Hello Glow has tons of different facial and hair mask recipes!

Go horseback riding

If y’all are more into sports, horseback riding is a lot of fun! Just make sure you’re wearing the right clothing for it. (And I don’t mean what the girl is wearing in the picture, though I honestly really like the dress :P)

Organize a photoshoot

Have you wanted to get some good pictures of you and your friends together? As long as one of you has a decent camera and tripod, this can easily be accomplished. Have your besties bring two or three of their favorite outfits along, one of them coordinating with everybody. (i.e. y’all can all wear the same colors) Find a place to shoot and bring a sibling along to hit the camera button. This can get really fun! (this is a really great one to do with your sisters)

Go to a crafting class

Michaels usually has different crafting classes, but see if you can get one of their teachers to do a class for just you and your friends. Chances are, if y’all are buying the products and you have enough people doing the class, they’ll probably be happy to do one! It never hurts to ask!

Go shopping

I know this is pretty basic, but I LOVE shopping with my friends. And I’ve done it once. Two years ago. However, shopping becomes 10x more fun when you do it in the company of good friends! Y’all can put together an outfit for each friend! (Then do the photoshoot!)

Host a formal tea

I do this for my birthdays, and it’s actually pretty easy. Tell your friends to come wearing their fanciest dresses and make some tea food! We like cucumber sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, and mini BBQ sandwiches. For sweet items, you can buy French macaroons (or make them yourself), mini crème brulees, and little chocolate cupcakes. Marshall’s and TJMaxx carry high quality loose-leaf tea sometimes, so if you know where to look, you can usually find some. It’s even more fun if you supply funny hats and gloves for your friends to wear at the tea! (Then do the photoshoot!)

Start a book club

As some of y’all know, this is right up my alley. Do a bunch of your friends love to read? Get them together and host the first book club meeting! Let them know beforehand which book to read, and even if they have only read the first chapter, y’all can take turns reading it aloud. Y’all could even have party favors or make a book-inspired craft. Don’t forget to provide refreshments! And one time, instead of reading the book, y’all could watch the movie! {BOOK IDEAS:  Great Expectations, Charles Dickens; Emma, Jane Austen; Anne of Green Gables, Lucy Maud Montgomery; The Hound of the Baskervilles, Arthur Conan Doyle; and Shirley, Charlotte Bronte}

So there are ten of my ideas! Which is your favorite?
