Oatmeal has always been one of my fall and winter favorites. There’s nothing like a hot breakfast to start off your day! While I do have a lot of oatmeal recipes already on my blog, I couldn’t skip this. One never gets enough of oatmeal! At least I don’t.
This oatmeal recipe here is what I call, “Pumpkin-Apple Oatmeal Pie”. Okay, I know, it’s really Pumpkin-Apple Pie Oatmeal. BUT the “pie” part wasn’t going in the right place! Anyway, the closest we can get to having pie for breakfast is in oatmeal. So far I have made apple pie oatmeal, cherry pie oatmeal, and pumpkin pie overnight oatmeal. Now here’s pumpkin apple pie oatmeal!
Next week is going to be all about Lovely Fall Layering. I am still running out of ideas for that post, and future “fall favorites” posts. Pop me an email or contact me with ideas!
By the way! Guess what I have been reading this weekend? I read the first four Mildred Keith books, the thirteenth Elsie Dinsmore book (Martha Finley), and I’m a quarter of the way through Little Dorrit (Charles Dickens). I also read On the Way Home by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It was her journal during the trip from De Smet, Dakota, to The Land of the Big Red Apple. And yesterday, we had our first hot apple cider. We put these mulling spices in hot apple juice and infused them for an hour. Yummy yummy!
